Well, actually from me,

my experience I
grow up Adventist,

but I never really had
a personal relationship

with Christ, and then

when I left home
at the age of 17,

my life was just
a downwards spiral.

Until last year, Josh
came out to me and asked me

if I would join
the evangelism program

that they're having in New York.

And first, not ready
to leave the lifestyle

then I told them no.

But then, after
I've told them no,

I experienced with, my
friends I was handing with,

we were doing things
that we shouldn't be doing.

And things just got really,

really bad by early morning

it was to point where I
thought I was gonna die.

And prayer wasn't part my life,

but I remember telling
God that I know this is right

and I want to get out of this,

but I didn't know how,

and he would have to show me

and tell me how
to get out of this.

And so the very that
morning my friend came up

to me that I gone
to an academy with that

had not known what
I was dealing with,

the experience of what
was going on in my life,

but he told me he
had a dream about me

the night before and he felt
really impressed to tell me.

And so as he's telling me this,

he's telling me what had
been going on in my life,

and he told me that
at the end of the dream

he ended with me dying.

And at this, at this moment

when he's telling me this,

there's a voice in
my head saying Joel,

you are gonna die unless
you get out of this right now.

And it said, go, join
the evangelism program

in New York. And so I
called Josh up that day,

and I asked him to sign me up.

And so when I started,

I went there like he was,

that was really tempting me

and it was really
hard for me to get away

from the stuff that
I had been so used to.

But through the,
through the concerts,

through the staff there,

through just the ministry there,

I saw people having
an experience with God.

And last summer changed my life

because that's when
I gave my heart to God

on this mission trip.

some bumps in my life

and I came to GYC last year,

and I knew I wanted to
do something big for God.

her with some therapy.

And also I give her a bath,

because she hasn't
been able to bath herself.

And she's 19 years old

and she's lived in the
hospital for a whole year

And the conditions
are not ideal there.

to new heights. Just being faced

different types of politics

to be just 18 years old

been coming back with us,

but they had decided to stay,

they have reached
over 75 percent of island

and they were
committed to staying

until all the island
would be Adventist message.

And I was just blown away.

And it forced me to you know,

just reanalyze my

experience with Christ.

I was only 19 at that time,

one year of university.

Had no leadership qualities,

no organizing
abilities, nothing.

And I would be stuck
with making these decisions,

I had no idea what to do.

But, one thing I
did know was that,

I knew what purpose

I was brought to my knees,

had to pray before the decisions

had to ask a lot of

Also had to do a lot of
reading on the principals

on which this mission
was gonna be based upon.

So, through that I learned,

they want united prayer

for about eight months

a week of prayer at Rio Lindo,

it was never explained to me

what a week of prayer was,

but please come and
do a week of prayer.

So I thought, I will go there

and pray for a week.

I was then later told
that a week of prayer,

really means a
week of preaching.

And I've never quite
figured out that vernacular.

But the point is this,

at some points
God is going to start

showing up in various meetings,

in various conferences,

people of God are praying

I just myself recently returned.

In fact, we were
there at the same time,

from the Philippines

and I was there at
Philippine Youth Conference,

which is very much
similar to what's taking place

in the GYC. This has spawned

many youth
movements all over the world.

And when I was there,

one of the
things that took place,

it just so impressed my soul,

communicate how fundamentally

it moved me. In the
early morning meeting,

we were gathering at
7 O'clock in the morning

in keeping with the 777
prayer initiative to pray.

And I went in
early in the morning

there to pray. And there were

already dozens
of students gathered

and there were continuing to,

they just prayed
and there were pouring

their hearts
out. And it came time

for the morning
meeting to begin.

But the young people
were undismayed by the time,

they just kept praying.

And then people came in
and they just kept praying

and at some point,
forgive me for this everyone,

I opened my eyes during prayer.

I committed the
cardinal sin of prayer.

And when I opened my
eyes to astonishment,

I was surrounded
by literally hundreds

of young people. I
looked at my watch,

which I guess is
another cardinal sin of prayer.

And we had prayed right through

the morning meeting.

The spirit of God, I
mean this happens sometimes.

God actually shows
up at the places where

we invite him
to be. And friends,

it is taking place
all over the world.
