is two things that the Lord

has taught me in recent
years that were life changing.

One was taking his
promises, confessing

them over my life
and praying them back to

him, but the other
was when he taught me how

was when he taught me how

to pray for an hour and I
want to share that with you.

What happened after
God taught me about praying

his promises back to
him. I've done that for two

years and as I
confessed his word over my and

prayed those words back
to him. He was changing me;

he was developing
the mind of Christ in me.

And then I got a job
that was as a consultant some

distance away from
home I was traveling all the

time and I abandoned
that practice. And after about

18 months of abandoning
that practice I was back in
00:20:29.53\00:20:32.70
home, we lived
in Coleman, Texas.

I was on the way
to Sam's, which was 60

miles and as I'm
driving down the road.

How many of you pray in
the car? Yeah, you should

see me praying in the
car, I'm going down the road

and I'm praying and
I'm talking to the Lord and

every now and then I'll
raise my hand and I know

people pass me by and
think what's that woman

doing? But, here I was
praying in the car all the
00:20:54.03\00:20:57.40
way to Sam's for 60
miles. Just pouring my heart

out to the Lord saying
Father what's wrong with me.

How is that I can walk
close to you sometimes.

That I sense your
heartbeat and then I can

find myself in such a
backslidden condition.

And so I'm praying all
the way to Sam's, parked the

car, I hop out go into
Sam's and do my shopping,

get back in the car and
I've got 60 minutes to go home.

And I'm praying all
the way back just pouring,

I was crying going down
the road and just about 15

minutes out of Coleman,
suddenly the still small voice

of the Lord broke through.
How many of you know that

know. That God has spoken to

you before. He's
impressed his thoughts
00:21:42.56\00:21:45.80
upon your mind. And
I'm crying out saying Lord,

how can I keep from backsliding.

This is 1999 and I said how
can I keep from backsliding.

And what I heard was
this not an audible voice,

but in mind what I
heard was, child if you come

and spent the first
hour of each day with me in

you'll never backslide again.

about that for while and though

wouldn't backslide.

by the end of the day if I'm

thinking I'm just speechless,

So, how can I promise you

would have to be God.
It's not up us it's up to God.

We surrendered to
God. So, the next morning,

I said Lord okay I will
get up and I'll pray an hour

tomorrow. If it's
gonna have to be you.

And I got up the next
morning, I'm an early riser.

well, I'll clean up the dishes

And it was nearly 8'o
clock by the time I sat

down to pray. And then I
thought Lord what do I do.

Well the Lord impressed
upon me to journal my prayers.

And I thought well
I've never done that.

out like you're writing a

I can't read my own writing.
So, times I'll write grocery

you look at them and you

what on earth was I wanting.
And so I said Lord do you

mind I can type really
fast. I type over 100 words

a minute. Is it okay if
I do this at my computer.
