The Book of John,

if you don't then
share with your neighbor.

Because really it's God's word.

John's book, I did
some research on the book

of John. I always like
to know something about

the Bible
writers. If you look at the

writer John, John
is not only the one
00:08:30.10\00:08:32.26
that the Bible
says whom Jesus loved.

But John was one of
those disciples that
00:08:35.20\00:08:38.16
wanted to make
it abundantly clear
00:08:38.16\00:08:40.06
about the divinity of
Jesus. John is like the second
00:08:41.03\00:08:46.53
book of Genesis, as
a matter of fact John
00:08:46.53\00:08:49.56
goes farther back
then Genesis. Genesis says

in the beginning
God created the heavens
00:08:52.23\00:08:54.26
and the earth. But
John says in the beginning
00:08:54.26\00:08:57.10
was the word. Long
before the world was
00:08:57.10\00:09:00.93
created, John says
the word was there,

can you say Amen to that?
Amen. And if there is going to

be any life in our
beginnings, we need

to find Jesus
there. John is one of those

Gospel writers that
focuses on the perfect side of

Jesus. Now that seems
to be a oxymoron because
00:09:16.20\00:09:18.53
there is nothing about
Jesus that's not perfect.
00:09:18.53\00:09:20.43
But, he only talks
about 7 miracles of Jesus.

And only 7 I am
statements about Jesus.

But, he also points out
that if there is going to be any

power in following
Jesus. We've got to begin by

concluding that Jesus is divine.

That's a message
that's being lost even in the

churches today. Jesus'
divinity is under question

whether or not he is
God or whether or not he can

create, that message is
the message being questioned

today even in our churches.

So, in the
beginning was the word,

we can begin there and
so the anxious bystander

you can see what's happening

tell us what the future

There are a lot of people

that don't have televisions,

them. I like to know what's

happening in the
world around me to get ready

for the things that are
coming, what do you say?

Now not to get
enamored by the two, but to know

that what Jesus has said
is going to take place as

he said it is. News
agencies are closing

their doors, for
the first time some on,

more than a 100 years
are publishing their last

newspapers or
their last magazines.

Real estate is on the
landslide, car manufacturers

on the brink of bankruptcy.
Banks are on the verge of

either collapse or
merging to sustain themselves.

Insurance companies are
on the threshold of failure

and no wonder when you
think of all the disasters

in our world. How
could they possibly

sustain all the
natural disasters taking

place around us.
But, it's an indication

that Jesus is soon to
come, can you say, Amen.

He said you will hear
wars and rumors of wars.

You don't need wars
to bankrupt our country,

all you need is one
more disaster on the heels

of another and right
now even in the state of
00:11:17.26\00:11:19.86
Georgia. They are trying
find an answer to their flood

in the major cities.
In California, when one

fire ends, another
begins. The only problem we

have here in
Southern Illinois is bugs.

That's somewhat of a natural
disaster, if you live here.

We fight that all
the hours of the day.

But, the world is on
the border of financial

meltdown and when

And the fact of the
matter is not even the White

House has an answer for
the crisis on the financial

front of our world.
And the Pope does his best

to try to find an
answer. But, I would suggest

even the Pope needs

verge of one of
the darkest hours.

Lights are going
out on the job market.

Hope is growing
dim on the real estate

market, faith is
growing dark on the

stock market and
we are quickly being

polarized into two
groups. Those who have and

those who don't have.
Those who are employed

and those who are not employed.

That's why if you
work here at 3ABN you've

got to know that
God is down here.

We are not rich,
but we are sustained by

saw that the only hope

decide, which group
is going to be your group

because there are
only two seats at the

end of this
journey. You've heard me say

one seat is smoking,

one seat is non-smoking.

a family by the way that

really enjoyed flashlights.
My father would walk

around the house during
the day with a flashlight.

And even to this very
day when I travel I carry

flashlights, I lost
one in England because

I carried three,
couldn't keep track of them all.

But, he taught me

Brethren, what I have

light is best appreciated

What we need in these
last days is to do what

clear, how feudal personal

achievements and position
and fame and fortune are,

goal is really Jesus.

The Bible says
there was a man of the

Pharisees named
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

And I could spend the
rest of the night carrying

on taking about
rulers. When you talk about

rulers you have a
problem at the very beginning.

And so I won't even give
any any attention to the rulers,

but Nicodemus was a Pharisee,
a member of the Sanhedrin

National Council.
He feared coming to

Jesus by day and so the
Bible said that Nicodemus

came to Jesus by
night. You may fault him

for that, but I say
this it's better to come to
00:16:26.56\00:16:29.00
Jesus by night,
then not come at all.

I turn my headlights off

just to experiment. In
a matter of few seconds,

I was surrounded by MP police.

And with their guns
drawn they locked me in on both

that. And they said to me

what's wrong with

Brethren, it's not

off at night to experiment.

It's not safe to drive at

Because the road that
