the idea that the law of God

My friend, it is SO important
that rather than change it

He sent His Son to die.

How could anything be
more important than that?

If He could have just changed
the law and changed this whole

thing so that there
would be no concern about sin

and there'd be no concern
about the Savior having to come,

a lot of trouble, wouldn't it?

lot of heartache.

brought more, and God knew it.

What we are
talking about, my friend,

is centered in
Jesus Christ all the way.

Now, there has been a lot of
interest in the 10 Commandments

years. You'll remember

that a couple of men got the
idea of a 10 Commandment Sunday.

because it's really a
Ten Commandments Sabbath

We start it here on Friday night
and we run it through the hours

of the Sabbath.

And then focusing upon God's law

and upon His Ten Commandments.

Now there's been a
lot of focus on it.

You remember the
situation with Judge Roy Moore

and the
commandments in the courthouse?

No problem with my
feeling about the commandments

in public places. I
have no problem with that.

But I'm more concerned
about them being in churches.

And I want to
tell you something:

I get around to
a lot of churches.

And I have not seen the
Ten Commandments in very many
00:10:25.42\00:10:28.56
churches. Once we get them
in all the churches, then we can

start to look at the
public places, all right?

But let's get them
in the churches first.
00:10:35.45\00:10:37.96
You see, the churches have said
"it's really not important. "
00:10:38.16\00:10:41.85
Now, there are
two groups out there.

There are the Protestants
and there are the Catholics.

And I want to say
something about the Catholics.

I have a lot of
respect for Catholic people

because the Catholics simply say
"that's what the Bible says...

but we changed it. "

At least they have
the gumption? The courage?

Whatever it is to
say "We changed it.
00:11:03.66\00:11:06.83
We were given the
authority to change it. "

Well, we don't believe that.
We don't believe God has given
00:11:09.47\00:11:11.94
anybody the
authority to change His law.

But there are certain groups
that rather than admitting

that it's been changed by man
will try to spin their theology

so that it looks certain
ways or sounds certain ways.

And they take certain
texts and they read them

and make it sound like God's
law has been done away with.

But you know, as you
start to talk to them you say

"You mean you can
have another God? "

Oh, no, no. You can't do that.

Oh, you mean... and you
go down the Ten Commandments

and you find there's
really only one they are trying
00:11:46.32\00:11:49.96
to get rid of. All
the other nine are OK.

But there's one... In
fact, it happens to be the one
00:11:54.16\00:11:57.17
that God says remember!

And He wrote it
with His very own finger.

My friend, to think
that that is not important is

a wrong thought

and should not
even be in our minds.

I'm looking at II
Timothy the 4th chapter verse 3.

It talks about these
times in which we live.

It says: "For the time will
come when they will not endure

sound doctrine, but
after their own lust they shall

heap to themselves
teachers having itching ears. "

In other words,
teachers wanting to tell people

what people want to hear
00:12:45.03\00:12:46.22
rather than what God says.

I have a CPA.

look at what the Bible says.

at the Constitution of Grace.

and wonderful 10 Commandments

which I believe are
really His law of love

and His law of liberty.
Turn with me, if you please.

I think we may have
this one on the screen.

But turn with me to
Revelation the 14th chapter.
00:14:19.55\00:14:22.79
You see, we are talking again
about Jesus. And if this is not
00:14:23.00\00:14:26.34
centered in Jesus,
then it's not important.

But I want you to know that
IT IS centered in Jesus Christ.

Revelation the
14th chapter verse 12:

"Here is the patience of
the saints. Here are they

that keep the commandments
of God and the faith of Jesus. "

Now you see, the commandments
of God and the faith of Jesus

are together. That's
where they should always be.

There is not some type of a
conflict between God and Jesus.

You know, sometimes people get
the idea that when Jesus came

to this earth that
He was like a rebel

and that He stood
up against God's law.

There... NO HE DID NOT!

If you look very carefully...
He not only taught the law

but we are going to show
you that He absolutely magnified

God's law. Luke the
2nd chapter verse 49.

You remember when He was
lost and His parents found Him

He said: "Wist ye not that
I might be about My Father's

business? " In John the
5th chapter and verse 30

He says: "I seek not My own will
00:15:40.20\00:15:43.34
but the will of the
Father which hath sent Me. "

This is the will that
He seeks, not His own will.

You see, Jesus is not in
conflict because if we go back

to, for instance,
the Ten Commandments

and you go the 4th Commandment,
it refers to creation.

"For in six days the Lord
made heaven and earth, the sea

and all that in them is. "

Right in the heart
of the Ten Commandments

it refers to creation.
And who was the Creator?

Jesus. Jesus was the Creator.

In John the 1st
chapter, verse 3, it says:

"All things were made by Him,

and without Him

that was made. "

He made it!

And that's one of the
things you are going to see

in all of the pre-observances

Then it says He is
the one who gave the law

because you look at
James the 4th chapter verse 12.

Ten Commandments...
those were given.

Jesus Christ is
the one who gave them.

It says in James
4:12: "There is one lawgiver

who is able to save,
and that is Jesus Christ. "

When Moses brought the
Children of Israel out of the

land of Egypt, you look at the
cloud that was protecting them

by day and the
pillar of fire by night.

And then you look at the rock
and what does the Bible say?

I Corinthians
10:14: "And all drank
00:17:44.20\00:17:49.20
the same spiritual drink,
00:17:49.40\00:17:52.28
for they drank of that spiritual
rock that followed them,
00:17:52.48\00:17:57.12
and that rock was Christ. "

So you see, He would be
in conflict with Himself.

He says: "I and
My Father are one. "

And when we see also
that He was the lawgiver,

He is the one that gave it,

He is the one
that wrote it in stone.

This Bible was given to us
by God through His prophets.

But there's one part of it that
He wrote with His very finger,

and amazingly that is the part

that some people want to
say is no longer in effect.

Can you imagine that?

Every other thing... there
are little tiny things in here

that people will
almost split churches over.

You know that.

Over whether this
party is allowed to preach

or that party is
allowed to preach

or whether this happens
or whether that happens.

And yet they would
split a whole denomination

over some of these things.
And yet they will not believe

that He has kept
His law in effect.

Now what about Jesus?

What about Jesus and the law?

Well, let's turn to
Matthew the 5th chapter because

this is the great
chapter of Jesus on the law.

And He is so
clear in this chapter.

Looking at verse 17, He says:

Sometimes people say
00:19:40.47\00:19:42.04
that means destroy.
00:19:42.14\00:19:44.28
I've had people say that to me.

Well that wouldn't
make sense, would it?

Think not that I have
come to destroy the law.

I have not come to
destroy the law but to destroy.

That wouldn't
make a lot of sense!

In fact, if you want to see
how He uses that word fulfill,

This is the baptism of Jesus.

Now let me ask you a question.

Did Jesus do away
with righteousness

when He was baptized?
Did He do away with baptism?

No. Remember the
Great Commission:

In other words:
Go, teach, baptize

and the Son and the Holy Ghost.

So the word fulfill

means that He was bringing about
a fulfillment of understanding

and of knowledge.
Look down at verse 18.

you till heaven and earth pass
